Are Your Floors a Good Fit for Clean ReCoat?

With a diverse client base, we see many different flooring types, levels of wear, and resurfacing needs. You may wonder whether or not your floors would be a good candidate for our hardwood refinishing service. Let’s dive into what may make us a good fit for your home!

How Worn Are Your Floors?

We often start by asking how much damage and wear and tear your floors have. To get a clear image, we ask our customers to rank their hardwood on a scale from 1-5: 1 meaning the floors are terrible, very worn, and exhibit lots of bare wood spots, and five being that the floors are in near perfect condition, just in need of a little sprucing up. Here’s the full chart for your understanding!

  1 = Terrible– scratches, divots, many bare wood areas

  2 = Very worn, with several bare spots

  3 = Scratched

  4 = A few bare spots, but overall good

  5 = Near perfect just needs brightening

Your ranking will help us understand the level of care your floors need. If you believe your floors fit best in the 1-category, it may be time to consider a total refinish; check out our blog to learn more about when refinishing is a better-suited option than recoating!

What Are Your Goals For Your Floor?

Some of our customers are looking for different outcomes in terms of their flooring. We offer both a full Clean ReCoat service and a cleaning-only option that may suit your needs best. A complete Clean ReCoat is an excellent choice for you if your floors are worn and need brightening with a fresh new finish of polyurethane. This will rejuvenate your floors with little time and money. If your hardwood was recently recoated, we also offer a cleaning only service that many of our customers prefer in between complete services. This will remove debris, build-up, and contaminants from your hardwood. However, a few desired outcomes may not fit our company well. For example, if you are looking to lighten the color of your flooring, we may not be able to accommodate you adequately. While we offer tinting and color correcting for sun-damaged or bare wood spots, we do not sand down past the finish and, therefore, cannot lighten your flooring. Secondly, if your floors are severely damaged, cupping, or need replacement, you may consider other options.

How Much Time, Money, and Effort Are You Willing To Invest?

Our process is low cost, fast, and convenient. The service takes only one day, costing ⅕ the price of traditional wood refinishing. We are a great solution if you aren’t fully ready to commit to a total floor refinishing project! Our services are much cheaper, less time-consuming, and less labor intensive than wood refinishing. Not only can we breathe life back into your hardwood, but we can also do it much more conveniently for you!
